Honeysuckle by Pierre-Joseph Redouté, 1802
Honeysuckle, first published in 1802, is a stunning botanical illustration by Pierre-Joseph Redouté, one of history’s greatest botanical artists. Redouté was famed for his work at Château de Malmaison, where, at the behest of Joséphine Bonaparte, he painted the exquisite flora of the estate. Born in Belgium, Redouté’s talent as a painter led him to become a tutor to Marie Antoinette before focusing on botanical art, producing over 2,100 paintings of more than 1,800 species over his prolific career.
Today, you can delight in owning a high-quality, unique, and personalized fine art print of Honeysuckle, lovingly recreated by The Unique Maps Co. This fine art print is available on thick archival matte paper, ensuring vibrant colors and enduring beauty for decades.
Redouté’s Honeysuckle is notable for its delicate composition and naturalistic detail, emblematic of the Victorian botanical illustration style.
